Country log Fence consists of 3 main components:

1. The posts and rails are Coastal Douglas Fir.
2. Posts and Rails are joined by the Wilson tenon joint system.
3. Posts and Rails are heavy duty treated per AWPA specifications.

Coastal Douglas Fir is strong - about 30% stronger than pine. What that means is that our posts and rails will take a lot of abuse! These are not peeler cores or doweled wood. These were small trees that were selected for minimal taper and straightness. They were processed on a machine peeler to just remove the bark and to leave as much sapwood as possible.

Country Log Fence utilizes a system that has been proven to withstand time. The Wilson tenon joint connection is a combination of the rail being tenoned on the end so it fits into a round hole in the post. The advantage of this system is that it allows the rails to “move”. Another words it lets the rail contract and expand through the different seasons and does not rely on some sort of fastener to hold the rail to the post. You see, that’s where most problems start in a fence. As wood contracts and expands, it continually works on the connection until it loosens and becomes weak. This system was originally developed to take advantage of using round rails which are a lot stronger than sawn wood.

We have several different treatments available. We will focus on the three most popular: ACZA, Penta, and Creosote. All three treatments are excellent and have a proven track record. They all will last a very long time. All posts and rails are treated to AWPA standard C5. They are sampled and go through a stringent testing procedure to assure you of the highest quality and the longest lasting wood fence on the West Coast!

Our Country Log Fencing will look good for many years--and it is maintenance free! It will not crack, stain, or fall apart. Many fences on the market look good for 2 or 3 years; if you’re fortunate, maybe 5 to 10 years. Our fence, when installed correctly, will last 40+ years.

We offer real wood, ranch style fencing that is strong, durable, and great looking. Our “Premium Heavy Duty Fence” utilizes big 5-6” posts and fat 3-4” rails. Our “Elite Jumbo Size Fence” is enormous, utilizing huge 6-7” posts and husky 4-5” rails. We know this is a fantastic decorative looking fence. Don’t be fooled, this solid fence is very much “at home” on a working ranch also.
